Title: What to Do With That Heart
Author: mytimehaspassed
Fandom: Generation Kill
Rating: R
Pairings: Walt/Ray; Brad/Ray; Ray/Trombley
Warnings: Graphic descriptions of violence; drug use.
Notes: As requested by colbertesque: "A Teen Wolf!AU with Walt as Scott, Ray as Stiles, Brad as Derek, and Nate as Deaton." Of course, this is completely and 100% not a true AU, because Walt is nothing like Scott, Brad is only sort of like Derek, Nate is barely in the picture, and Ray is like the HBO version of Stiles.

It’s only when he’s back at the house – with one sneaker, a lost inhaler, and a torn, useless, bloody shirt – that he notices that something is a little off.

*pokes at LJ*  Anybody here?

There's a new interview with David Simon up over at ew.com.  It focuses more on Treme, his current series, but he talks about Generation Kill, too.

Our point of view has remained stable, in terms of what we’re doing with The Wire, what we’re doing with Treme, what we were doing with Generaton Kill. A lot of people thought Generation Kill was one thing after they watched one or two hours. You don’t get what Generation Kill is in totality until you get to the end of the seventh hour. Of all the things I’ve worked on, Generation Kill is probably the best executed project I’ve ever been involved with, in terms of trying to convey a specific reality — a specific theme — and achieving that.

Nobody watched The Wire when it was on. Nobody watched Generation Kill when it was on. But now Generation Kill is selling more DVDs than ever. Quietly. On word of mouth, and on the say-so of a lot of people in the military who recognize it as being a very consistent and accurate portrait of modern warfare.

When I was thinking about how to put this together, for a while I wanted to write a truly exhaustive exploration of every single moment in which Brad and Ray demonstrate their trufax love for each other onscreen, an undeniably thorough and convincing manifesto that would dazzle and delight everyone. And would probably have footnotes and a bibliography.

This is not that postCollapse )

If you are a member of generation_kill, there is lots more love in the comments over here.

Big news, Ray Lovers! It's time for the Boys of Summer author reveal! Always an exciting moment in any exchange. Use this as an excuse to go read and review all the fic that you haven't gotten around to yet because you've been writing an essay on the transportive nature of literature as a reaction to increased anxieties about changing Victorian transportation technologies.

Oh, just me?

Regardless, check out the Master List! now with more author!
